In the personal development world there's a lot of focus on having the 'perfect morning routine.'
While starting your day in the right state of mind can be incredibly helpful, I've found that having an end of day ritual to be just as important - specifically for those who work from home.
Working remotely can provide a wide variety of benefits, but in my experience it can also be a challenge to "turn off."
Which is why having an end of day ritual is key.
When I'm done with work for the day, I'll stand up, turn off my computer, close the laptop screen and do some light stretching.
This is my mind's trigger that the work day is over and I can relax guilt free.
No one benefits from you thinking about work when you're spending time with family and friends. No one benefits from not being able to focus on reading a book because you're still locked in to your work.
Choosing an end of work day ritual with a physical component is especially helpful.
Here are a few ideas you can use to create your own end of work day ritual.
Turn off the computer and stretch
Go for a walk with one of your pets
Brew a cup of edefacinated cofee or tea
Do 50 pushups
Journal with pen or paper.
You won't always be able to do your ritual, but if you make it a habit, I promise it will make a massive difference in your day.
