The value of De-escalation

My neighbor continues to try and "start things" with my wife and I because of the horrible sin of taking our dogs out to use the bathroom.

From yelling at me, to gossiping with the neighbors, to calling us nasty names on the town Facebook group.

The experience has been less than pleasant to the say the least. Our patience is running thin.

While part of us wants to let loose and fire back in kind, we know that's probably not the best course of action, especially in these trying times.

We decided to have a difficult but necessary talk with him to clear the air.

So far so good.

While things could change, it felt good to do what was right, even when it was hard.

If you're having trouble with someone, de-escalation should always be on the table.
