So true, that there is no 'do over' machine which allows us to go back and make different decisions. Turning the page is the only valid choice. Thanks Bud!

It has been the common habit of humans to stay in the past rather than appreciate the current moment. If only we become aware of this propensity, we are able to shape our future in a way that will benefit us further. :-)

Hi Bud.

I like your examples there. The one about the home makes sense. When we are in a new home, we think about what staying in the old home would have been like, when we have a blank slate now. We have a lot of purposeless thoughts of this type.

I can't rewrite multiple items that have passed by, but as you said, I can go onto the track I desire as I look forward. I think that is what winners say to themselves quite often.

I would add that we have to want to get back on the track or it will not occur.

Love this post, Bud! Tomorrow IS a blank slate and even though it can be hard to remember sometimes -- every MOMENT is a blank slate too. Excellent topic and very well-written!

Fantastic post, Bud! I totally and completely identify with this. I've spent so much of my energy trying to bring back the past and it gets me nowhere. Like you, it's caused me a lot of personal pain. Now that I've realized how draining it is to live in the pages of my history book, I try to write new chapters that will lead to my desired ending.
