I couldn’t agree more. I actually prefer to take the step by step approach and breaking down my goals into chunks. It’s not really difficult if it is something I really enjoy doing.

I’ve fallen to this trap myself, thinking I can “read” my way to success. It’s only rather recently where I began to break out of this thinking and go back to working hard.

I guess people are just afraid of hard-work. The euphoria over “The Secret” just shows how popular the myth of “creating something out of no effort” works.

Love this post Bud.

A quick fix is like sticking plaster… it papers over the problem for a period of time and the problem often remains.

That said, life doesn’t have to be a hard slog either. I’m willing to put the effort in AND I don’t see it as hard work. It’s all about the attitude. I advocate life being Easy and Fun. When I make things easy and fun, the results happen naturally in a way that they are meant to.

You nailed on this one. The thing to remember is that a quick fix to your life it’s like a rubber band. Yes, you can tie stuff up with it, don’t expect to be any solid, though.

I COMPLETELY agree with this post. Every time I see a commercial for a diet pill I have to laugh because those things are completely bogus. If you want something, you have to work for it. It’s annoying sometimes, yes, but really it feels a lot better to get something (a better body, a more sound mind, a stronger relationship) when you’ve worked hard for it. Great post!
