One of my favorite sayings is how the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago but the next best time is now.Yet this nugget of wisdom can be applied to any area of your life.
The best time to be healthy was yesterday but there’s nothing stopping you from eating healthy today.
The best time to work on your relationship was last week but you can easily put in the effort in today.
The best time to create a career you love was years ago but building blocks can be laid today.
We have a tendency to beat ourselves up every time we come up short. We have a tendency to be our own worst enemy when we don’t reach our goals.
The problem though, is that by being our own worst enemy we waste valuable energy on what cannot be changed. I’m just as guilty of this as anyone else but it’s something I work to become aware of.
If you haven’t been putting in the effort to get the results you want the worst thing you can do is hate yourself for it. Yesterday may have passed but you still have today at your disposal. Bullying yourself is both stupid and immature.
Let your past go down with the sun, for every second spent visiting the past you lose a second of potential forward motion. The next best time is now.
