What's up dude. The message of the post wasn't to suggest you can't be happy the majority of the time but rather we must embrace the suffering as well.

Those of us who live pleasurable lives often forget one of the important points you make in this post: "The majority of the world suffers on a regular basis. Many deal with wars, drugs, poverty and inner demons." Such recognition helps put our own experiences in perspective.

Bud,

I did not know you had your own blog too. I know you through pluggin id but I usually do not comment there. Why? I am not sure. I like this subject, I also agree being happy all the time or being sad all the time is not great. Great buddha also said, without suffering we can know joy or happiness. Both are part of our lives.

Solid post Bud... IMO, the most valuable growth comes through struggle... Struggle and suffering are the ultimate forms of focus in this dimension...

Keep up the great work...

Wow

Insightful stuff dude... I properly had a "shift" as I was reading it.

I'm as guilty as any at chasing "perfection" and wanting to be uber-happy all the time.

Nice of you to point out that not only am I being mental; I'm also missing a trick:

Suffering is awesome. Well, almost. You get me.

Great stuff Bud. Boom!

Hey Bud,

I like your point. I think that being happy all the time is a delusion. We can be happy a lot of the time, but not all the time. It's a psychological impossibility. Besides, suffering is also a natural part of life. Once we understand this and don't run away from it like crazy, we can manage it in a very effective way.
