One Chance To Rewind

What are we chasing after?

And why are we chasing after it?

Where is it leading us?

What will it make of us?

With every decision made, you will encounter these questions, time and time again.
Whether it’s internal, you’re expressing them through writing, crying to a friend, or screaming them as you stand on the top of a mountain, in the end, you don’t care who’s listening, you just want to be heard. You want to be answered.

Reality: There are no direct answers.

For everyone, these questions are “answered” through life experiences, personal confrontations, and the adventure of trial and error. Interpretations and perspectives will change over time, others’ opinions will influence yours, and you won’t really find your true “bearings,” your legitimate establishment for making your own interpretation, probably until the day you die. All that time and energy, the crying, the screaming, the smiles, the hugs…and none of it makes since or is completely satisfying until those last few breaths.

These are the facts of life.

But for the time being, although this is your one and only “answer” to life, which you will rely on, refer to, and create havoc over endlessly, it’s enduring those events in life, embracing them, defining them, and understanding them, all in the meantime, that makes them worthwhile.

At this day in age, all you ever hear about are two things: Love and Politics.

Politics: Make life way too complicated, and no one likes talking about them, so we won’t.

Love: Has become the most widely used, four letter word, universal, ceaseless, and encases every word in the human’s dictionary. It defines all and is one of the most powerful and influential feelings. It can be beautiful. It can also be destructive. Especially when you’re young, naive, desperate, clueless, hopeful, lost, and careless.
Love can be so detrimental that it drives a person to ending his own life. On the flip side, love can be so powerful that it drives a woman to lift a car in order to retrieve her child, trapped in rubble, and return him to safety.

It’s a simple question, but one of the hardest to answer.

Which Love to you Live by?

Go on I’ll wait.

We fight for what we love.
We embrace what we love.
We never stop loving.

If not our love is worthless.

Stop sitting around wondering why this happened, who he or she is with, how you are going to get that person’s attention, and pretending that reality doesn’t exist. You are embarking on a life’s adventure. You’ll hit ups, and downs. Good moments, and bad ones too. But in the end, they all played a part in reaching your final destination. Creating your final thought.

You can’t rewind our life. You can’t “play that part over again.” No one will do what you want done for you. You never get to take the easy way out, at least if you want things to get done and turn out alright. You aren’t always going to have seven different options to choose from – you have to be satisfied with just one. Acceptance is key. And worrying? Not worth it. Drop the ego, lose the dedication to “first impressions.” You only live once, you only experience every minute of every waking day…once. You don’t regret. You learn. You don’t sit and watch, you perform. You hit and up, there is always going to be a down (and visa versa.) You aren’t cooler. They aren’t better. You are who you are, you end up with who you end up with. You focus on what is important. You surround yourself with love.

Are you lost? You shouldn’t be. If you have a simple mind, then it is a simple idea. And after that…it’s use of this, and acceptance.

If you’re young, naive, desperate, clueless, hopeful, lost, and careless, then listen.

Focus. Accept.

Go now and Live.

Just reading this post was relaxing, I’m not sure why. It just felt good.

“Love and Politics” would make a great novel.

Hi Alana, thanks for your great post! :) We only have one life and we should live it to the fullest. Life is too short to do anything else!
