Is That All You Have To Give?

Is that all you have to give?
Spread your wings and try to live.
Indulge yourself in endless sky,
Take a leap and begin to fly.
It’s in you; I know it,
Find some courage and show it.

The path will be muddy, of this I’m sure,
but only when you walk it, will you find the cure.
Happiness and peace all the same,
A forgiving heart will reduce the blame.
Radiate the love that you contain,
adore the temple that you maintain.

Humanity depends on your gifts explored.
Don’t let your passions go ignored.
Misery manifests in the thoughts you choose,
Protect your mind from a negativity bruise.

Lead by action not mere words,
Soar with the eagles not with the birds,
Feed those who struggle with the power of heart,
Conquer your fears and develop a true work of art.

Breathe, smile, continue to explore,
follow your dreams up onto the shore.
Live your beauty in each day,
Turn the world from dark to play.

Is that all you have to give?
Spread your wings and try to live.
Indulge yourself in endless sky
Take a leap and begin to fly.

-Bud

Dude this poem is so awesome!

Not only does it flow well, it contains the truth at the same time.

I especially like the line: “Soar with the eagles not with the birds”, that is a great analogy for going after you dreams and being the best of yourself.

“Misery manifests in the thoughts you choose,
Protect your mind from a negativity bruise.” – Very clear message and beautifully put.

Thank you for this poem Bud, it is great and you are a talented poet now. :)

Thanks Steven.. I’ve have bits and pieces of this for a while now… and I thought it would be cool to add a personal development spin. :) I have another adaption that is somewhat of a love poem as well. Thanks for stopping by!

“Humanity depends on your gifts explored.” That line caught my eye, as we all have gifts to share with the planet, gifts that everyone will benefit from, but we rarely see that fact. The more we give, the more the world benefits!

Heya Bud :)

Great poem man! Really impressed! :)
Maybe at some point in the future you can do a “12 best” poems ebook. (although you still have to write 11 more then :P ) I enjoyed reading this!

I WANT you to catch up with me and overtake me. Then I’ll have to work even harder. Bring out the big guns :)

Have a rockin’ weekend mr!

Excellent post – I like that you mixed it up with a poem! And this one’s great =]

Hi Bud,

Enjoyed reading your poem. The poem reminded of 2 things. 1) Jonathan Livingston Seagull, an inspirational novel by Richard Bach and 2) R. Kelly’s super hit song “I beleive I can fly” – Space Jam soundtrack.

Look forward to read more of your compositions. Cheers!
