Hi Bud. Your article on "expressing your real self" hit the bull in the heart of his eye. If there's anything critically important to authentic success it's learning how to be yourself. Here's something you might find interesting about "expressing" your true self. Imagine your true identity was hidden in an ocean of potential at your "center". Expressing that real person means letting yourself out. How does that happen? Well, as it turns out, there's an inhibiting force holding you back. This is true for releasing ANY kind of potential. Water under pressure (potential) is held back by a tap in your kitchen for instance. For we crazed Human creatures there's a force holding back our true selves too. It's called fear of being judged. Without taking this force away, it's impossible to "express our true selves". When this sinister fear is at work, our authentic person is exactly like water held back by a rusty faucet. Here's some good news though. Learn how to dissolve this fear and all your passions will flow out like a Niagara river. Ciao Budd. John Duffield

Great post filled with wisdom. Sometimes it really is just about getting out of your own way so that you can discover what is really important and who you really are.

off-topic, but this touches my heart so much that i vibrated! words cannot express how I feel.

"Ang hindî marunong lumingón sa pinanggalingan ay hindî makakáratíng sa paroroonan." José Rizal, my fellow Filipino.

[He who does not look back to his origin will never reach his destination.]

Origin is the basics, (basic needs, basic words, basic whatever!) I need basic skills to write, i need basic math to calculate.

Everything is born from the basics, yet we take it for granted! The foundation for everything are the basics!

My brother inspired this topic about basics, when he criticized to a friend in the phone about labelling someone asking basic questions as stupid. That's how far ego goes!

Stupidity is not realizing basics are the foundation to everything!

heart-warming article!

Creativity is one of the pillars of humanity, I realized, which must coexist with Freedom, another pillar, along with Understanding, Health and Love. Tell me if you know other pillars. I realized many people take the pillars of humanity for granted!

Creativity is powerful. Example: Negative thoughts, we create them all the time without realizing it! Just like any other thoughts, it is powerful! Does it sound better to shed our light of creativity on your passion? We better use our energy on better thoughts than negatives.

So that's how creativity is taken for granted. Many people take their energy for granted. I just feel we create all the time, but not using properly. We neet to put energy on the right places. To know which place is right, we need to learn.

I feel this is how to rationalize (challenge) negative thought:

• accept it because escaping does not improve anything (I realized acceptance is always the first step!)
• understand why is it occurring, this involves learning something from anywhere, because learning improves our innate rational thinking.
• then finally challenge it calmly. [failure, go back to understand, it is not game over]
• congratulations, you have leveled up!

I visualize fighting negative thoughts like fighting monsters in RPGs.

I thank you for sparking my brain for this comment, My own words inspire me!
